HANNINGTON GILBERT & CO LTD is celebrating 60+ years of serving the local community in Hastings, Rye and the surrounding areas. From humble beginnings, the company has grown over the years to encompass a wealth of electrical knowledge and expertise with one eye always on the future of the industry to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of our customers.

• 1965 – Hannington-Gilbert & Company was started by Clive Gilbert and run from his home in Pett, just outside Hastings.
• 1969 – As work increased, the business expanded and took up more appropriate residence at 55 Queens Road, Hastings.
• 1970 – Hannington-Gilbert & Co enrolled as an Approved Contractor with the NICEIC and is still a member today.
• 1973 – The business moved to 51 Queens Road converting what was previously a pub into a shop with accommodation above.
• 1983 – Hannington Gilbert & Co Ltd is registered with Companies House.
• 2011 – The company moved from Queens Road to Unit 24, North Ridge Park on the Ivyhouse Lane Industrial Estate where it remains today.
• 2025 – Hannington Gilbert & Co Ltd continues to thrive as a largely family-run business and celebrates it’s 60th anniversary.

TODAY Hannington Gilbert & Co Ltd comprises of a small but dedicated team of engineers and apprentices. All of our engineers are fully qualified to the latest industry standards and undertake regular training in all aspects of their work. We have also trained 20+ apprentices over the years and usually have at least one apprentice working with us for their practical experience, whilst completing their professional qualifications on a day release basis at the local College. Several of our apprentices have continued working with the company for years after they have qualified, some even becoming long-standing Directors.

As electricals continue to evolve and dominate the world around us, we always ensure that we are up to speed on new technologies and potential solutions for our customers. This means that, together with our years of experience in the trade, we can offer a wealth of services to the local community and beyond.
